The changes seemed safe when I ran some regression tests.  Ideally
the 2.12.0 releases, or any patch followups, would go in for 2.12.1

They've been almost completely unmaintained.  Lutz has solidered on
in the absence of patch review but has not taken up the mantle of
maintainer.  However, there is light on the horizon.  The Novell
iPrint team is interested in maintaining printing in GNOME.  I'll be
meeting with them today to do some planning.  That should get things
flowing again.
