I just re-read the bug and noticed that I missed how the first of the
two gtk+ patches was made earlier and is in the tarball releases; I'm
hoping that was enough to prevent the crashes people were seeing.
It'd be nicer if we had more comments in the bug and could see if
anyone had duplicated it later, but, of course, bug-buddy emails
haven't gotten through for the last two weeks or so (really bad timing
for that to happen... *sigh*) which makes this hard to tell.
Since a release tomorrow would not give us much time for testing,
let's just go with gtk+-2.8.3 and guess (hope?) that Alex's workaround
isn't necessary.
