First
of all thank you for the new app. I have been looking out for the
stable version for a while now and just started playing with it and I
really like it. I will add some recipes later but I ran into one issue
that I would like to point out to you and that is the scaling* of the
ingredients.
Use case: when making mayonnaise you need one egg, regardless of the volume
you make, so to add a recipe I need a way to tell it not to scale the amount of eggs with the amount of oil.
I
know the revamping of the unit system is still on your todo list but
would it be feasible to add an optional checkbox in the new ingredient
dialog that when checked would allow a scaling weight other than 100% to
be added?
I would offer to add it myself but I am
afraid I went with Python instead of C. I could offer to do some first
drafts on the functional and interface design for the future
ingredients/unit system if that helps, but the examples would be in
python + glade.
For future expansion I
would suggest an option to group recipes by type (i.e. pasta, bread etc)
as this seems to be missing in the interface atm.
