Hi all,
I have been using planner 0.13 for basic costings and tracking of
projects for a little while and it has worked well.
Now I am using it for a more complex project, tasks, sub tasks,
dependencies etc.
I noticed that I can't simply add up all of the costings for the
milestones and tell the client it will cost you X. As the value of X is
way out.
Here is an example:
Milestone 5 Feb 21 Mar 16 12d2h 12d2h 13200
Task 5.1 Feb 21 Feb 27 3d 3d 9d2h 1440
Task 5.2 Feb 21 Feb 23 1d 1d 480
Task 5.3 Feb 23 Feb 28 2d2h 2d2h 1080
Task 5.4 Feb 28 Mar 16 9d 9d 4320
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My Math Feb 21 Mar 16 15d2h 15d2h 7120
In case you are wondering I am quoting based on 4 day weeks (M T T F):)
Task 5.1 depends on task 4.9 (not shown)
It gets weirder, here is the html export for the same thing.
5 Milestone 5 Feb 21 Mar 16 12d 2h 5,880
5.1 Task 5.1 Feb 21 Feb 27 3d 0% 1,440
5.2 Task 5.2 Feb 21 Feb 23 1d 0% 480
5.3 Task 5.3 Feb 23 Feb 28 2d 2h 0% 1,080
5.4 Task 5.4 Feb 28 Mar 16 9d 0% 4,320
This time the figure is out in the client's favour.
Has anyone else struck this problem before? I am happy to file a bug
report, but thought I would see what others thought first.
Cheers
Dave
