Sounds like it could be useful indeed. I've added a bug report for this:

I think mails from unsubscribed addresses gets stuck in the moderator
queue, so it's the best way, yes. If we automatically let all
unsubscribed addresses through, we would be drowning in spam.

We'll have at least 0.12 and 0.13, probably 0.14 before 1.0. 0.12 is
coming up, we are finalizing undo support and when that's done, 0.12
will be released. It's difficult to do time estimates for this since
noone is working full-time on Planner. 0.12 should be out "soon" though.
