Getting started

[I've resent this mail as I realised I'd subscribed with the wrong

Hi!

I'm trying to follow the instructions at:
https://live.gnome.org/OSTree/GnomeOSTree

First - what is the recommended "host" system? I'm guessing this
should be in a VM, and after noticing the lchown() call in the source
code, am I right in thinking that all the commands should be run as
root?

Secondly, having done this setup, I'm consistently getting "Connection
terminated unexpectedly" when I run ostree-pull. Downloads run for a
short time, before failing like this:

Connection terminated unexpectedly

So maybe there's an issue going on in the server? ostree-pull doesn't
seem to resume its downloads, so I'm not sure how to proceed from here
..

When I tried last week I experienced a different issue, where most of
the files managed to download but eventually ostree-pull got stuck on
one file. Tracing showed that libsoup's message queue had got stuck
somewhere after a request had failed, I reported this one here:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679527 and danw has
mentioned a possible fix since. However, I don't get that far at the
moment to due to the above error.
