Re: [orca-list] how to use Orca with VSCode for git commands

Hi.
Depending on the language, I use ctrl+shift+o to show a liste of functions and variables.

Hi.

Thanks again.

It worked.

Just that It does not work the way Eclipse or Emacs does.

I have to first focus on the breadcrums and then navigate.

In that case it is more detailed but I can't call it quick navigation
though.

From an accessibility point of view, I would have expected some
navigation comand which takes me to beginning or end of a function and
Orca rightly announcing the same.

But this works fine as well.

Hi.
Did you try the "focus Breadcrumbs" command?
It can be activated pressing ctrl+shift+. (dot).

Thank you, it works.

By the way I haven't yet found out an accessible way to navigate between
code blocks such as functions or classes.

I know there are breadcrums but I did not see them accessible with Orca.

I wish to know if there is a simple "move to next or previous function "
keyboard command, or should I rely on using flat review to find what
I want?

Hi.
Try the following steps:

1. Press ctrl+shift+g to access the git view.
2. Press shift+tab.
3. Use left/right arrow until you find something like 'Views and More
Actions...'.
4. Press space bar and use up/down to explorer the opened menu.

HI Jose

Thank you.

The problem I am facing is that I can access the view all right.

But I can't find the action bar after pressing tab.

How many tabs are required?

Can you tell me what Orca says when action bar is focused?

Hi.
You need to press ctrl+shift+g to activate the scm view. In this view
you will find the list of changed files and an action bar. Use the
tab
key to locate this bar and navigate to it using the left and right
arrow keys.

Initially the list of possible actions is poor, with only basic
actions, but if you press the spacebar in views and more actions and
navigate with the up and down arrow keys, you will find almost
everything you need.
Hope this can help. Feel free to contact me if you have any
questions.

Hello all.

I wish to first thank all those who have worked on Orca
accessibility
with VSCode.

Needless to say this also includes people working on the VSCode
side.

I am however having just one query.

I want to use the git based features in code using Orca.

I feel it is very much mouse oriented.

Can anyone suggest how to go about pulling, pushing and doing
commits as
well as staging?

Also need to know how to create new branches or checking out
existing
ones.

Regards.

KK
