Hi Francisco and all,

libsonic is included in Slint in the sonic package.

Cheers,

TO have higher speeds than 390 wpm you should install libsonic from AUR, but maybe not in last releases, i had to install it a few months ago. What do you mean inflection? You can change pitch_variation such as in nvda in /etc/speechd.conf

Hi Peter and all,

The edit in said file totally works, so now i'm running Espeak at 600 words per minute without a single problem for now.

Thanks for the tip.

Best regards.

Francisco.

Hello,

In that file
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/espeak-ng.conf
there are options like this...
EspeakMinRate 80
EspeakNormalRate 170
EspeakMaxRate 390

That means the slowest rate speech dispatcher will allow will be 80 wpm, the default will be 170 wpm and maximum would be 390 wpm. I have modified EspeakMaxRate to 550 and that gives me much faster speech rates.

I don't know about the inflection but I think it might be possible to craft a voice file for espeak with given properties including variant and inflection.

Greetings

Peter

Hello,

How do I change the speed of the espeak-ng? When I set the speech rate to 100 in speech dispacher it speaks a little bit slow.

I tried modifiing /etc/speechdispacher/modules/espeak-ng.conf but it didn't help. I changed the maxrate parametr to 400.

Also is it possible to change the inflection of this synthesizer like you can do in nvda for windows?

Thank you.
