Re: [orca-list] stay away from chromium latest snapshots !

OK, this is interesting.

I didn't rebuild the other day as I customarily do everyweekend because
I believe Joanie is temporarily off line. So, I didn't pull Orca master,
either.

My current chromium is
Version : 85.0.4172.0.r778088-1
                                                                        Build Date : Sat 13 Jun 2020 05:08:51
AM EDT

I updated virtually everything else last Saturday, however; and I'm and
am now having all kinds of trouble with Firefox, e.g. Ctrl+Home isn't
taking me to the top of the page on Amazon any longer:

Version : 77.0.1-1
Build Date : Wed 03 Jun 2020 04:18:02 AM EDT
Install Date : Sat 06 Jun 2020 01:03:35 AM EDT

Go figure.

                                                                        Janina

Orca screen reader developers writes:
Hi,
it appears that since a couple of snapshots, chromium messed up so badly in the
accessibility stack that typing in the search bar result in an instant segfault.
Issue only happens when accessibility flags are passed, which confirm they are
somehow related to the problem. The very latest orca from git master, or the
stable release, it does not seem to matter at any point. Also the bookmark menu
with hidden bookmarks is now entirely unusable with orca.
I send this email to warn people, stay away from the very latest snapshots.

Hope this avoids some trouble for others
