[orca-list] Seeking a laptop capable of beeps during boot

Hello all, I'm looking for a laptop capable of issuing beeps during 
boot, like do desktops via the so called internal speaker or PC speaker. 
My current laptop, which is a Dell Inspiron, is able to beep through its 
integrated soundcard whenever it detects a hardware failure, but I 
cannot make it beep whenever I want, neither from within Linux, nor 
booting from a talking Linux distro such as Slint.

As you know, a machine capable of beeping makes it easier for us to set 
up several systems and choose between them during boot.

After asking elsewhere, I've been told that Lenovo laptops are fine in 
this regard, they can beep through their integrated soundcard. In any 
case, I'd like to know about other brands such as HP and Acer, which are 
easily found in Brazil. Could anyone test and report results please?
