Re: [orca-list] Chrome and Orca

Hello,

on Fedora you need also the qt accessibility variables:
export QT_ACCESSIBILITY=1
and
export QT_LINUX_ACCESSIBILITY_ALWAYS_ON=1
Without these variables qt apps doesn't work. For some reason also Chromium requires these variables on Fedora.

Hello,

I updated my Fedora to Fedora 32 Mate Compiz. Orca is updated to latest Master, 3.37.3 Pre. I installed
Chrome Dev, exported ACCESSIBILITY_ENABLED=1, and opened Chrome with --force-renderer-accessibility. When I
open Chrome, nothing
speaks, Orca remains silent. Actually, sometimes it kills all sound, and I need to exit the current session
and log back in. Other times, I am able to exit Chrome, but nothing I do causes Orca to speak. I attempted an
install of Chrome
stable as well, and have the same results. Finally, I tried starting without the
--force-renderer-accessibility flag, and end up with the same results. Anyone have any ideas about how I can
go about troubleshooting what may be going on
here, or have there been any changes in Chrome or Orca which may cause this?

Thanks.
