Hi.
You're absolutely right. I downloaded the same version you are using, and contrary to what I thought, it works even with version 6 of electron
I'm sorry for the wrong information.
.
Hi,
Version: 1.42.0-insider
Commit: be0aca7188ec6a76e7c2379758c0fbc1e9c21f7b
Date: 2020-01-31T14:03:46.603Z
Electron: 6.1.6
Chrome: 76.0.3809.146
Node.js: 12.4.0
V8: 7.6.303.31-electron.0
OS: Linux x64 5.4.0-12-generic
I got it working by telling it the editor is accessible. The tree in the settings window needs some work though.

What build of vscode are you using?
The latest builds of vscode are using version 6 of electron, and from my understanding, this version of electron does not have the necessary accessibility. It is possible to check the version of electron used in the about box.
Anyway you need to configure in the vscode preferences that the editor is accessible
There is a menu in the file menu called preferences and in that menu there is an option called settings.
To be honest I did not find the preferences configuration screen very comfortable, but it is possible to find the desired option with some goodwill.

Hi,
I am using VSCode Insiders 1.42, Orca master, Ubuntu 20.04.
Some threads on this list mentioned that the code editor in Code Insiders is accessible. However, Code is telling me that the code editor is not accessible, press alt+f1 for more options. I see no where in the settings to turn on accessibility. What should I do? Pressing alt+f1 is impossible because it opens the Mate menu.
