Turns out the crazy-crazy-huge delays are another instance of

One of my colleagues is already working on that, so hopefully it won't
be too much longer for it to get resolved.

ctrl+shift+i, to the elements page. go to any element and press context
menu, go to edit as html.
My observation is I cannot actually edit anything, because navigating
with arrows does not read.
