Just a side note in context.
I often use meet.jit.si for video conferencing.
One can install the server on private dedicated hosting and use it for professional work as well.
It does not have all the bells and whistles like zoom but is good for quick meetings.
Else Zoom is quite accessible albeit not totally accessible.
Though I have a zoom account I wouldn't allow it anywhere near desktop equipment. Way too many security problems with this app. By now, zoom has several competitors discord and telegram are available on linux and telegram.purple can be run inside of pidjin. But Orca's flat review seems to work on it. --joanie On 4/7/20 08:37, Nolan Darilek wrote:Is Zoom not an Electron app? I guess not--I just omitted --force-renderer-accessibility and it worked. Huh. In any case, how do I navigate my list of upcoming meetings? I have one in a couple hours, but it doesn't appear anywhere in my upcoming meetings tab. Would love to ditch this Windows VM for that purpose if I can. I can join a meeting, I can start a meeting, I can change settings and the keyboard shortcuts are by-and-large usable. Nothing like as accessible as my IOS version but way more productive for sharing with students etc. I've been running tutorials that way since we were locked out of campus. Remote desktop sharing has also been a good way of getting sighted assistance on the various inaccessible web-sites I have to use. All in all a pleasant surprise if far from perfect. cheers Peter Nolan Darilek writes:I wouldn't bother. I've run a regular Zoom meeting for a while now. On Windows,=20 this is a nicely navigable list, and Zoom meetings themselves are very=20 accessible. I assume Orca and/or Electron aren't sophisticated enough yet. Orca master, version 2.35 of the at-spi kit and seems gnome 3.34 under gentoo. When I get to the sign up dialog, I can get into the email box, but when I try to type, I get no speech and just a couple of letters in Braille.
