Re: [orca-list] (Multilingual) speech recognition on Linux

There's speech recognition work being carried out by Mozilla, but, as far as I know, it isn't ready for
general use yet.

    Hey hey,
is there a good speech recognition system on Linux that will understand both
English and German? It doesn't matter whether it is free or commercial. It
would also be desirable if that software allowed to create "speech commands",
that could perform certain (user defined) actions.

My friend who has been asking has so far used Dragon on windows. Even though
it would be possible to run that in Wine, it would probably lockk him in that
environment, so something native to Linux would be very much preferable.

I know that this question is slightly OT for the Orca list, but for now I
didn't know where better to ask.

Thanks in advance for any tips and best wishes,

    Jeanette
