Hello,
I'm working on getting an audio server for my local
network, using my Pine64 ARM board.
I installed Volumio, and it's running Debian Jessie
version 8.
I have sound, as I am using SSH to get into it, and
I run:
speaker-test -c 2
and I get the audio test through the
speaker
This is progress, as all other distros I used on
this Pine64 would not use the audio jack on the board and I had to use a small
USB soundcard.
So I ran:
apt-get install gnome-orca
and after another apt-get update and running the
install again, it seems it got installed.
But nothing happens when I log in to the desktop
with a keyboard on the Pine64.
I can still get the speaker-test to work on the
desktop, just not Orca.
I tried espeak "hello" in both the desktop terminal
and through SSH and that does nothing.
So audio seems to work, just not for
speech.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
