Re: [orca-list] orca, evince and latex beamer

This is a very important aspect of overall accessibility.

Given that Libre Office Impress is far from accessible so to speak, I think getting accessibility in presentation mode of evince would be a great step ahead.

As such using LaTeX-beamer would produce far more professional looking and rich presentations.

I have a similar setup, though I am preparing my notes on paper (in braille) to
be more fault-tolerant :). I am using a special notation for overlays, but as
you have pointed out, this does not help against scrolling twice accidentally.

It is possible to embed sound files in the PDF and I hence tried to include a
quiet and short clicking sound when I switch slides (as opposed to uncovering an
overlay). At least Evince and Okular seem to not support multimedia playback.

The trouble is that presentation mode disables accessibility features. But even
if it were enabled, normal keyboard navigation would not work. Most external
presenter tools expect `arrow down` or `arrow right` to open the next slide and
that would conflict with Orca's navigation. Still, I would really appreciate if
the presentation mode could get the same level of accessibility as the normal
one.
@Joanie, is there a chance we could sort out a compromise here?

Thanks
Sebastian
