Hi,
Use emacs in a console or tty, rather than in a graphical environment.
It works with espeakup, speechd-up and fenrir (I just checked)
At least speechd-up is available for Ubuntu; not usre about the
other ones.
More specifically, you could try also speechd-el and emacspeak.
Best regards,
Didier

Hi.
I tried emacs but can't get it to work with orca. Are there any special tricks to that?

Emacs will certainly do line numbers. They don't have python
inteelisense as far as I know, although they have a python mode.

Hello.
Is there a good text editor out there for ubuntu that will speak
line numbers?
Python intelesense support would also be a nice bonus.
Thanks.
