Re: [orca-list] Please test master for window-related issues

Hello,

I am afraid we would need to restore some of the hacks.

After updating this morning I have noticed I am intermittently getting wrong content when opening links in a new window in Firefox.

Steps to reproduce:

* Open firefox and browse to wikipedia

* Open a new firefox window and go to https://gitlab.gnome.org/gnome

* Browse the gnome gitlab, pick a repo of your liking for example I focus a link to nautilus and press shift+enter

* Firefox pops up a new window displaying nautilus repo, but orca is reading wikipedia page to me.

It does not happen all the time but approx 75 percent of the time. One time fix is to alt+tab into another window and then alt+tab back to firefox.

Arch linux, Gnome 3.30, GTK 3.22, Firefox 65 .

Greetings

Peter

Hey all.

I just changed Orca's behavior regarding cache clearing of windows in
the hopes that it will improve overall performance. Of course, that
change means that apps and/or toolkits whose windows fail to emit the
correct accessibility events may now be broken. Hopefully those issues
have been fixed since the original hack was put into place. But just in
case, some ongoing testing of Orca master would be appreciated.

Thanks!
