I think it is a good idea, from the perspective of being friendly to
beginners, to have a desktop file that starts Orca. More experienced
users can always delete it.

IMO, we should provide a desktop file to Orca. On Windows, both Jaws,
NVDA and the narrator are discoverable by the start menu. I see no
reason that make the end-user more happy without desktop file than he
is with.
I can figure out what commit drop desktop file and tell you if you want.
