Re: [orca-list] web browsers, was, orca crashing randomly?

Obviously no one has to use Chrome with ChromeVox, but I don't see it as a hacked together solution. I see it as more of a talking web browser. For me, I want as many tools in the toolbox as possible.

HTH.

When you run chromevox, you're supposed to turn orca off and turn orca

Hello.
Changing the subject line here in hopes of getting additional answers.

Is there really no browser aside from firefox that works with orca?

Thanks.

I use Orca with Firefox just fine myself.

I'll also bring up Chrome with ChromeVox from time to time. It doesn't work
with Orca though.

You could also try Seamonkey. I'm not sure if it would have the same
problem or not.

So what other browsers can i use?

Not familiar with what works and what doesn't work on linux yet.

Gonna chime in here and say I've noticed this too, more with resource
heavy items on a slower/older system, but (mostly) ditching FF seems
hopefully to have cured it. as has using the latest Orca from github.

Hi.

I'm pretty sure it is. It starts on boot anyway, It just seems to
randomly turn off at times.

Hi,

I do not use Mint but I think you have to check in Settings >
Universal Access if the screen reader is set to on.

Hello all.

Recently i've started a new job where the operating system of choice
is mint. The desktop gui is mate. So far i've been able to figure out
most things but i do have one issue. If the screen reader falls
behind or gets lost it just says screen reader off and turns off. To
relaunch it i have to run the orca command.

Anyone have any ideas where to look what the issue might be or what i
can do to figure it out?

The mint version is 18.03 i think but not sure of the mate or orca
version.

Thanks.
