Gosh, this is just getting weirder and weirder, isn't it!
I thought perhaps maybe it was an issue being caused by certain
HTML boundery elements, but that doesn't seem to be the case after
all.
Anyway though, if anyone's interested further in my
finding/theory, they can write me privately at:

Due to someone on this list telling me I'm causing in their word,
drama, on the list, I refuse publicly to continue this discussion
on list, as that's the last thing I want to do!

Hello
Christopher,
I see a really strange things. When I follow your steps pressing
shit+down arrow doesn't select only one line but a bunch of lines.
It's not an Orca issue because I reproduce the same behavior
without Orca.
Best regards,
Alex.

OK, go to my home page.
http://www.gshministry.org
Once there, go down right below the heading for our favorite
quote.
You'll see a line that says:
A smile on your face shows God's grace.
Try hitting shift+down arrow on that. At least for me, it isn't
working.
As I said even then over on the Ubuntu homepage, nothing was
working until on a random line, don't recall which one, I hit
shift+end, then it started working. It still won't do it
anywhere on my homepage, but it all of a sudden, after doing
that shift+end on the Ubuntu website seems to be working in most
places. I mean, this is just totally weird! And here's the
thing. I debate, notice, I didn't say argue, I said debate, big?
difference, what Jude said to me about it being a source code
thing entirely. I do! agree with him that that's probably part,
if not most of it, yes, but, explain this to me. How could
hitting Shift+end causing Orca to then jump alive, and start
working on most website, whereas before doing that, it not so,
how on earth could that be related to web page source code, be
it the html, or the CSS?
Yeah, my point exactly.

Hello Christopher,
Could you tell us which lines of text are you trying to select
precisely? On a quick test on your website, it just works for
me.
Best regards,
Alex.

OK, this just doesn't make any damn
sense, pardon my language.
So, I did what was suggested with Firefox and my whole saga
with selecting text, which I am sure by now has gotta be
driving you all bonkers crazy putting up with me! LOL!
So, lo and behold, nothing was working, well, guess what, I
went to
http://www.ubuntu.com
And tried it, hitting shift+down arrow on a line of text,
and you're not gonna believe this! It worked! However, check
this out, and see if yall can fathom this. I sure can't!
When I go to my homepage, which is:
http://www.gshministry.org
then I try to shift+down arrow on the line of text right
below the heading saying our favorite quote, which reads, a
smile on your face shows God's grace, Orca won't say
anything!
I did an orca+F to see if that would make any difference,
and it doesn't seem to. The format of the words looks fine.
Nothing fancy.
We're using Drupal V7 to power our site if that helps, and
haven't modified the CSS nor the theme in any way. We're not
even using a 3rd party theme. It's just the default that is
active when installing Drupal 7.
What's even odder is, even on the Ubuntu homepage, nothing
worked with shift down arrow until I did as suggested with
shift+end. Only then, did things start working everywhere
aside from on my own website.
So, I don't understand! What on earth could be causing my
website to not let Orca read that, yet everywhere else only
after hitting shift+end would magically just then start
working?
I'm going through chemo trying to figure this out! LOL!
Chris.
