I have found both Fedora Live Workstation and OpenSUSE to be quite 
accessible out of the box, and they also stay pretty close to the latest 
software. Another distro called Paldo also caught my attention before I 
mostly left the world of x86, so you may want to give that a try as 
well. It's GNOME based, and it's very easy to get Orca running by 
pressing the alt+super+s shortcut key after the system boots.
