ON HP laptops you can go into the BIOS and disable action keys.
This will cause your function keys to behave like traditional
function keys.
I'm a complete moron!
I totally forgot that HP did
something really really stupid with their keyboards
internally. So, on my laptop, I gotta hit FN+F10, as F10 does
something hardware wise. I have no earthly idea what though.
I'll have to use Be My Eyes and have someone tell me.
In Gnhome 3, it's working now,
although I'm finding many many apps with no menu bar. I also
tried Rhythmbox, and it's apparently got nothing. I guess, how
do I deal with that, if there's no menu bar, then what's the
next best stratigy to take? Would you then just tab around the
window, or is there even a better methodology?
Also, can someone better explain
what that menu for the application is up in the top panel just
to the right of the activity overview? I guess I'm not
understanding the difference in that, vs. a menu bar, vs. what
things like GEdit have?
I guess we have 3 different type
things going on here. Hopefully someone can better clear this
up.
Chris.
