hi,
so you are saying taht it it is similar to Ubuntu 16.04, meaning we
don't get updates to orca and espeak?
thanks

I don't see a list of supported languages in the documentation, but
imagine it's the same as in Trisquel 8 or Ubuntu 16.04. Arabic is the
default language for the distro's homepage, with an English option.
They're probably looking for translators.
Here'sthe distro's English home page;
<https://urukproject.org/dist/en.html> note: the download links are
still pointing to the 1.0 release.
Cheers,
Dave H.

I discovered a quick search command for wget-log type files generated
by sf.sh. It's like this:
export saved=`tail -3 wget-log|grep -i "saved"`
That command either returns nothing or a line of text giving download
statistics and the saved file name once file has been downloaded.
Earlier I had been doing:
wc -l wget-log
to get number of lines in wget-log every so often since if lines kept
increasing I could monitor my download progress to some extent.
Of course if you can get the length of saved contents and that length
suddenly goes greater than zero, you have a simpler mathematical test
for when a download completed.

If anyone has any ideas for improving that sourceforge fetch script
I have the time to test them on this end and if those end up being
improvements updating the script and I will share any updates too.

I'm glad to hear that Uruk passed your two tests, which are those I
apply to a candidate live iso, as well. Thanks for including the
fetch script for sourceforge iso; I, too, have had troubles in the
past. Also, I don't virtualize. I have plenty of bare metal to
mess with.

First test I do once iso is on dvd is see if iso boots and I may
or may not have to do something to bring the screen-reader up.
Uruk passed the first test and I needed only wait and the
screen-reader came up talking.
Next I check out the pre-install real estate to get the lay of
the land. Uruk passed this test real well once I opened the
desktop. I found lots of controls easily accessible in this iso I
hadn't encountered in mate before. Next I'll install this on an
amd K8 Athelon machine on a real hard drive, got no virtual drives
or resources and wouldn't know how to use those yet if I stumbled
over them anyway. This will take a little longer but from initial
successes ought to prove promising.
