Re: [orca-list] debian mate on arm?

It would be very interesting, if Debian Kernel drivers will be able to cooperate with crucial chips on various Android ARM6 based phones, aspecially with sound chip and with button for turning screen on and off and with volume button. The biggest issue is, that there is no good automated free tool, which would enable blind user with no sight at all to flash many various phone models. Many flashing methods require alternate recovery consoles and those consoles do not support USB and Braille devices at all. There is also other issue. If somebody will flash some android phone, if kernel will boot at The never ending boot cycle, who will restore original firmware from the manufacturers? No every user have so much money to buy Nexus phones and downloads of original .img images from Samsung are not easy to find for stand alone download. It would be very great to see, what would happen with Samsung Gtb5330 with 512 MB of RAM, if somebody would try to unlock GRUB and if somebody would try to boot Debian ARM by Grub as a alternative.
It is possible to unlock GRUB and also wipe OEM data.
If somebody have experience with such kind of experiments, I do not think, that Nexus root kit will support non Nexus devices and if used procedures would be applied, it would cause strange effect while boot or flashing other phones.
