My steps are:
inside mate terminal:
gksu <enter>
(* you get asked for the program *)
gparted <tab to "erweitert" = advanced>
<enter>
select "umgebungsvariablen erhalten" = preserve enviroment)
spacebar, tab to close, <Enter:
tab to "ok" <enter>
Then enter your password and ciola ....
