On Fedora 23, there is no yum - it is superseeded by dnf.
On fedora 22 or earlier, the correct command is:
sudo yum-builddep orca

You can use --prefix=/path to install Orca in a different directory
- default is /usr. That way you can keep your current Orca, so you
can fallback to it whenever something brakes. Usually, programs
which are installed from source go to /usr/local, i.e. you could
use: ./autogen--prefix=/usr/local However, I use my home directory
for that purpose, i.e. --prefix=/home/your_username That will take
precedence over /usr when you run Orca, so if you want to run the
copy of Orca installed in /usr you'll need to use the full path,
i.e: /usr/bin/orca

If you choose to install to your home directory, you don't need
root privileges when executing "make install".
