Re: [orca-list] New terminal script. Please test.

Hi Joanie,

i think its not a but in the new terminal script but maybe you can take a look at this if you find time. My girlfrind really like to play MUD games but it doesnt work properly. there is a MUD client called tintin for the terminal. this MUD client has a "split" mode. (that just seperates input and output area). if that split mode is active orca ignores the first line that is incomming. I see the first line i accerciser.

prepare reproduce:
1. install "tintin" (its in all to me known repos fedora, debian, ubuntu, arch)
2. open tintin :) in gnome-terminal by typing "tintin" in gnome-terminal
3. connect to any MUD server like this. (sorry is a german one..)
#session gast avalon.mud.de 23
4. wait a short time until connection is esstablished
5. the following prompt is there
Du antwortest:
6. type "gast" hit return
7. next prompt:
Du antwortest (m,w):
8. type "w" hit return
9. next prompt
[ENTER entspricht "nein"]
10. just hit return
11. next prompt
Nutzungsbedingungen akzeptieren? (ja,nein):
12 type "ja" hit return
13 "Druecke die ENTER-Taste, um nun Avalon zu betreten." -> press return again
now to the problem:
14 type "#help" and hit return
output:
ACTION ALIAS ALL BELL BREAK BUFFER CASE CHAT CLASS COLORS CONFIG CONTINUE CR CURSOR DEBUG DEFAULT DELAY ECHO ELSE ELSEIF END ESCAPE CODES EVENT FORALL FOREACH FORMAT FUNCTION GAG GREETING GREP HELP HIGHLIGHT HISTORY IF IGNORE INFO KILL LINE LIST LOG LOOP MACRO MAP MATH MESSAGE NOP PARSE PATH PATHDIR PROMPT READ REGEXP REPLACE RETURN RUN SCAN SCRIPT SEND SESSION SHOWME SNOOP SPEEDWALK SPLIT SSL STATEMENTS SUBSTITUTE SUSPEND SWITCH SYSTEM TAB TEXTIN TICKER
           VARIABLE WHILE WRITE ZAP
15. now type "#split" -> return
16. an line with ----------------------------- apears
17. type "#help" and hit return
output:
ACTION ALIAS ALL BELL BREAK BUFFER CASE CHAT CLASS COLORS CONFIG CONTINUE CR CURSOR DEBUG DEFAULT DELAY ECHO ELSE ELSEIF END ESCAPE CODES EVENT FORALL FOREACH FORMAT FUNCTION GAG GREETING GREP HELP HIGHLIGHT HISTORY IF IGNORE INFO KILL LINE LIST LOG LOOP MACRO MAP MATH MESSAGE NOP PARSE PATH PATHDIR PROMPT READ REGEXP REPLACE RETURN RUN SCAN SCRIPT SEND SESSION SHOWME SNOOP SPEEDWALK SPLIT SSL STATEMENTS SUBSTITUTE SUSPEND SWITCH SYSTEM TAB TEXTIN TICKER
           VARIABLE WHILE WRITE ZAP

orca announce this:
CLASS COLORS CONFIG CONTINUE CR CURSOR DEBUG DEFAULT DELAY ECHO ELSE ELSEIF END ESCAPE CODES EVENT FORALL FOREACH FORMAT FUNCTION GAG GREETING GREP HELP HIGHLIGHT HISTORY IF IGNORE INFO KILL LINE LIST LOG LOOP MACRO MAP MATH MESSAGE NOP PARSE PATH PATHDIR PROMPT READ REGEXP REPLACE RETURN RUN SCAN SCRIPT SEND SESSION SHOWME SNOOP SPEEDWALK SPLIT SSL STATEMENTS SUBSTITUTE SUSPEND SWITCH SYSTEM TAB TEXTIN TICKER
           VARIABLE WHILE WRITE ZAP

so the first line with that:
ACTION ALIAS ALL BELL BREAK BUFFER CASE CHAT
is not announced.
i think the horizontal line will break it somehow.

Thanks!

cheers chrys

I hope I have this problem fixed in master. Could you please pull and
keep testing? Thanks again!

Hi Joanie,

I am not sure if this is a bug, but sometimes, after type a command and
press the enter key, orcca announces something like 'new line'.
I don't know how to reproduce since it happens sporadically.
Thanks.

Hey all.

I've just committed a new script for accessible terminal objects. It
should work with terminals Orca can see, and not require special mapping
for applications. Notes:

1. You should do a clean build, autogen, etc.

2. KDE's Konsole, at least for me in Fedora 24, is not an accessible
terminal. The rest of the app shows up in Accerciser; the terminal
object does not. If Orca cannot see it, Orca cannot present it.

3. I've fixed a couple of Orca bugs, and worked around a couple of
    VTE issues, in the process.

Thanks for testing!
