[orca-list] DictationBridge

Hi all,
I know there's a lot of hackers here and people who use both Linux and
Windows... the DictationBridge project just launched its Indie GoGo
(crowdsource fundraising thingie)
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dictationbridge/x/13560037#/
which allows combining a screen reader with speech-to-text.

However it's Windows-only now, they've started with NVDA and the
funds are to expand to other Windows SRs... and be free and open
source.

What I don't know is if something like this can be a thing beyond
Windows: right now they're supporting Windows Speech Rec and
Dragon... and I know there's a Dragon for the Mac but I don't
think I've heard of and speech rec programs for Linux. So 1,
does anyone know of Speech Rec on Linux?

Then 2 would be, would it be possible and/or worth it to try to
make similar software for Orca? It appears for JAWS some amount
of JAWS scripting is necessary for certain features (not plain
old dictation though), but they're trying to avoid that as much
as posisble since JAWS scripts may break between JAWS versions.

This would mean if something similar could be made for Linux,
that it would require maybe little or nothing from the Orca
side (maybe a small plugin in the fledgling plugin system).

So, TL;DR: I wanted to let people know about the Dictation
Bridge project, and I wanted to know if anything similar
is feasable on Linux.

cheers,
_mallory
