Did you try press alt+f2, type orca --replace and press enter? Is it possible open a terminal session, type orca --replace 1>log.1.txt 2>log.2.txt and then send log.1.txt and log.2.txt? I suspect that there some package that was not installed. Also in the terminal, is it possibel type spd-say 'hello' to check if speech-dispatcher is working? Thanks. So I've finally made the switch from ubuntu to archlinux. I recently installed gnome, enabled gdm and all that other stuff. I've managed to start orca on the login screen, but I can't get orca started in the actual gnome session. I've tried alt+super+S, alt+f2, and nothing seems to work. I'm running the very latest version of the arch base packages, so I know that's not the problem.
