Hi,
I used to have the problem with google and massive lag, I would hit enter on my google search then move my 
focus away from firefox to prevent it happening.
But I have not been getting that bug since gnome-orca 3.17.
Joanie which speech-dispatcher are you using and when Burt reported his link was he using Voxin/ibmtts which 
can commonly crash with unusual links etc.

I am happy to keep on debugging.
