[orca-list] a question regarding setup

Hi all.
Suppose you install a distro on a laptop and for some reason you can not 
use the  insert key.
How to activate   the orca's preferences?

I've a coleeague that installed debian in a VM but by some reason the 
insert key is not working. Since he is using a laptop, he wants to 
change the keyboard settings to laptop layout. How to do this without 
the insert key?
