Re: [orca-list] Issues with SWT 4.5

Hi Josê and all!

Josê, thanks for your suggestion but this setting causes various new
accessibility issues. Furthermore it depends on the old gtk2 stuff.
I'm not sure how critical this dependency is ..
But you are completely right: the multitext areas are quite accessible
with this setting.

Anyway, I don't believe GTK3 multitext widgets are inaccessible :-) So
they will have to fix that in eclipse or only SWT maybe.

All the best!
Jann

Hi all.
The problem reported in
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=470031 only happens if we
are using gtk3 version.

It is possible run eclipse using gtk2 version simply exporting the
variabl|SWT_GTK3 before run eclipse.

|export SWT_GTK3=0

Hi Joanie and all.
Done, I hope that in the correct way.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks José.

Looks like we're getting no accessible events. I'm attaching an
accessible event listener. Could you please try the following:

1. Launch it in a terminal
2. Perform the typing and arrowing test in an accessible version of
Eclipse and verify you get accessible events as a result in the
    terminal.
3. Perform the same test in the broken version of Eclipse and verify
    that there are no events.

If all of the above works as I describe, then attach the listener to the
bug Jann filed along with the results. And then tell the list.

Assuming you have time for all of this, of course. Either way, please
let me know.

Thanks again!

Hey José.

If you've not already done so, could you capture a debug.out in which
you give focus to the editor and then type a few characters and then
left and right arrow within the newly-typed text? If so we can see
what
events we're getting and what we're missing. It could be that they
made
a valid change which Orca is not handling; it could also be that they
completely broke things. Hard to say which without debugging.

Thanks!

Hi All,
I have some issues with the latest Eclipse RC or more precisely with
its SWT. To test you can simply download the latest eclipse-mars-rc
from eclipse.org or build an application with SWT 4.5.

some viewparts that are using multi text areas became completely
inaccessible. For example i cannot read the console output in
Eclipse
anymore. Also the release information in the about dialog is no
longer read by orca.

I believe that's an SWT issue but want to ask if anyone can confirm
this issues.
If you can, pls consider adding a comment to the bug i entered for
this at eclipse.org:
