Re: [orca-list] Now try matrix.org with master

Hello,
I think this dramatically improves browsing experience in firefox. When loading matrix.org orca no longer freezes. There is just minor lag which goes away in a little while. I've also tested other example sites Kendel and José mentioned and for example with the http://planet.fedoraproject.org/ I can notice no issues at all. It's about midnight in here so I think this needs a bit more testing so the final word is more accurate but I feel this is verry verry positive change and from my limited testing I guess the performance when browsing web with firefox has again improved as a whole.

I apologize for being too picky again but.. Do you remember that huge issue which we originally reported against thunderbird and it later turned to be not yet accuratelly confirmed ATK or at-spi issue? I mean this one. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=924915 Might this event flood filtering theoretically improve the situation regarding this issue also? Or is there something to learn from all this?

Thank you verry much, I am really happy about these changes.

Greetings

Peter

Hey again.

I'm afraid I'm being as spammy and floody as matrix.org. <grins> I just
committed a change to master to ignore a few, very specific,
children-changed events:

     * If the child being added is missing
     * If the child being added is defunct
     * If the child being added is an image

Having done so, matrix.org works way better for me. This should be a
safe commit. After all, missing and defunct children are events we can
do nothing useful with anyway, so why even add them to the queue? And we
do not do anything when the child being added is an image -- other than
queue it, dequeue it, poke at it to see if we care, and in the end
conclude we don't. So, again, why bother?

Having said that, as always please test. If you think there's a
regression from this commit, please capture a full debug.out so I can
take a look.

Thanks!
