Re: [orca-list] OT: mud client compatible with orca

Howdy,
Gnome-terminal uses a newer version of some library in which a long standing bug was finally fixed. I'm not
real sure on the specifics. I tend to mud with speakup in the console, but that's just personal preference.

Are you saying it worked better with gnome terminal than with others?
Mate's terminal seems pretty much just renamed gnome term, so I'd bet it's the same with tintin, but other
terminal emulaters?

Howdy,
Using gnome-terminal, tintin++ and orca work very well together. It even works ok in other terminals, but the
first letter of words on new lines tends to get left off. Even if you don't use gnome though, gnome-terminal
doesn't pull in many dependancies.
There are a couple of packages that use tintin++ for some well known MUDs. check out the following links:
https://github.com/stormdragon2976/tintin-alteraeon
https://github.com/stormdragon2976/tintin-empiremud
The alter aeon project is a lot further along than the empiremud one but both are playable with good
accessibility features including channel buffers, so you don't miss tells, enemy condition tones so you can
hear how you're doing against a critter without having to try and read the prompt and more. If there are
questions, feel free to contact me.
