hi all
 I've generated a debug log to document the minor issues i'm getting
in mate, which seems to be my hardware. The first tiem I start up
orca, the first, and only the first time i alt+tab or switch
workspaces, it takes from between 10 and 12 seconds before orca speaks
workspace number, or the name of the application I've alt tabbed to.
The main menu accessed by pressing alt+f1 doesn't speak if an icon for
it is on the panel, but will if there isn't one. Of course arrowing
around works fine, it just doesn't see that the main menu has popped
up. The debug log can be seen at http://pastebin.com/N4bBnDTT.
I hope this helps someone who knows more about this stuff than I do.
By the way, is there any documentation I can read up on at-spi to get
a more thorough understanding on how it works? I've read the gnome
developers guide, but it's ... hard to understand.
No one else i've talked to about these issues gets  the lags that I
do, so it's probably hardware specific. It happens on all my systems I
have here though, one of which has an AMD processor and the rest are
intel systems, so I'm stumped
