Re: [orca-list] conversion of ubuntu 14.04 iso image file to zip

It saddens me to say it but, I am inclined to agree. Just to give an
example of such an issue which I feel should never ever happen to you on a
long-term/stable release, there are lots of people who are having issues
just booting their system, for instance. Some genius decided to update grub
to a beta version from 2.02 and it hauled off and just broke all kinds of
stuff for lots of folks. There's argument back and forth on whether or not
to declare it an urgen bug or not. I'm hoping it's getting a bit more tlc
now:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977
I had this happen to me. I'm working to fix it now for a server I have at
home (see other thread). I was shocked to find such behavior by a package
included with a long-term release which is supposed to be more stable. It's
a real pity because, it is otherwise a very nice version of Ubuntu.

This isn't a reply to your question, but I feel that I should warn you that
I have found Ubuntu 14.04 to be full of bugs. It appears to be the bleeding
edge.
