Hello,
I am afraid that's the following libre office bug:

I can reproduce it and as far as I can remember it's working for me like
this for at least a year or maybe even longer.

Greetings

Hi all,
I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 with Orca 3.10.3 in unity. When
starting LibreOffice Writer from the launcher Orca keeps quiet. In
Ubuntu 12.04 Orca said root pane when Writer starts up and I then know
I can start typing. When I start Writer from an existing file Orca
says root pane when writer is ready. Do I have to look for some
setting to Orca always says root pane when Writer is ready t o use
when starting up from the launcher? Starting Calc from the launcher
Orca read cel A1 so I then know Calc is ready to use. Thanks in advance.
