Hi,
This day morning I get a letter from a Debian testing user, because
oldest time I reported in Mozilla bug tracker the Firefox and
Thunderbird not accessible with LXDE environment.
Report link is following:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=956684
He wrote following:
"The problem is an issue with the gtk module import path. The fix
for me in debian testing was to copy the modules directory from
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gtk-2.0/ to /usr/lib/gtk-2.0."
When I created a simbolic link the /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/gtk-2.0
directory to /usr/lib directory, in LXDE environment Firefox and
Thunderbird accessible, similar in GNOME environment.
I ran following commands:
1. sudo su
2. cd /usr/lib
3. ln -s i386-linux-gnu/gtk-2.0 .
I don't no without this simlink why not founding Firefox and Thunderbird
the proper GTK modules in LXDE environment, but the workaround works right.
Sorry to I open a new thread this Firefox and LXDE environment topic
related, but not founded the very old thread with affecting this question.
I tested this workaround in Ubuntu 14.04 after installed the
lubuntu-desktop metapackage and latest Lubuntu 14.04 live CD, the
workaround works good me.
Attila
