[orca-list] is orca-customizations.py obsolete?

Hi,
Afaik since 2007 I am using some tweaks in orca-customizations.py.
With orca-3.10 they don't work any more.

import orca.settings
orca.settings.brailleCheckBoxIndicators = ["[ ]", "[x]", "[-]"]
orca.settings.brailleRadioButtonIndicators = ["( )", "(x)"]
orca.settings.enableBrailleContext = False

What's wrong with these lines?
BTW.: It would be great to have these settings configurrable in orca's
settings window.
