Hello all:
My name is Victor and I'm brand new to Orca and Linux. Recently, I
installed Vinux on an older laptop and I've been getting to know the
operating system since then.
Right now, my main problem is that Orca doesn't seem to interact very
well with certain websites when using Mozilla Firefox. Namely,
Facebook. When using Facebook with Orca and Firefox, the experience
is extremely slow when I try to share something on Facebook. I'm one
of the administrators of my employer's Facebook and Twitter accounts
and I need to have the same degree of access to social media on the
internet that I get with Windows.
Also, I have very little access to Yahoo webmail and somewhat poor
access to Gmail. I prefer to use web-based email to get the most
security.
I've been using JAWS for Windows and NVDA for a long time. So far,
I'm not happy with Orca's current limitations when accessing the
internet. Do any of you have any suggestions for gaining better
access to the full Facebook website with Orca and Firefox? Are there
any tricks that any of you have discovered to make this work better
for me?
When will the next stable release of Orca come out? As Orca is
already integrated with Gnome, I keep hoping my Update Manager will
download an improvement soon.
As you can tell, I'm a little frustrated with these limitations. Any
help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Victor
