There's a sonar mate alpha in the works. I've already built it and am
waiting for either kyle or johnathon nadow to upload it to
sourceforge, so people can download and test. It uses the lxdm display
manager for now, which does not talk yet, but we're working on getting
lightdm to talk, which it does. But the gtk greeter that speaks is in
the aur, and we're waiting for it to move to the official repos before
we can add it to the images. It will probably be in the mate beta. I'm
not sure when that will be out. For now though, if you set the
installer to log you in automatically, it will set your user name to
log in at system boot. If not, if you have a pc speaker, it will beep
at the top and the bottom of the users list, so that's at least of
some help
