Re: [orca-list] Thunderbird compose problem with experimental focus mode

Hey Kyle.

I was able to reproduce this and for me it is now fixed in master.
Please try again and thanks for the report!

I'm experiencing an issue when composing a message in Thunderbird 31.0
with the latest focus mode fixes. Writing a message is not causing a
problem, but reading it back before sending it seems to get stuck.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set a signature in account preferences for the e-mail address that
is to send the message.
2. Be sure that messages are being sent from that address as plain text.
3. Compose a message from the address with a signature. Write anything
you like in the body of the message; no need to fill in a subject or
even recipients at this point.
4. Read from the top of the message, or just arrow down into the
signature and try to go back up into the body of the message.

The expected result is that I should end up back in the text of the
message body itself. However, the result I see instead is that I can now
only read the signature, and sometimes I can only read it using SayAll.
The only way I've found that puts me back on the text of the message is
either navigating back to the subject field and tabbing back into the
message body or attempting to exit the message, which prompts me to save
it as a draft, and then subsequently cancelling the save operation to
return to the message body. This problem appears to be a side effect of
the new experimental focus/browse mode, and seems to have become more of
a problem since focus mode is now forced in the compose window and can't
be changed manually. As it seems my debug.out files have suddenly become
far too large to post here as attachments, I'm linking to it here
instead. You can find the debug.out with the compose problem I describe at

Thanks for any help.
