Hello,
I am sorry to continue in this discussion.
Do I understand correctly that the outcome is that with Firefox 28, 
Thunderbird 24.4 and orca 3.12 and orca master for a while we will have 
to live with this issue?
Currently it looks as everyone has done his job to the best of his / her 
abilities including you and mozilla folks. Are we now waiting for 
Firefox 29 and Thunderbird 24.5 in order to see the results of that work 
or is there a chance something can be done about this?
Worth noting is the fact that with orca 3.10 this does not occur and 
text selection appears to be working better with Firefox 28 and 
Thunderbird 24.4. In particular I am testing in Thunderbird new message 
window. Withorca 3.10 I can arrow over the text no mather whether the 
text has previously been selected or not. With orca master if I focuss 
an empty edit field and write into it I can read the text I am writing 
but if I focuss an edit field where the text is already typed in and the 
whole text is selected I can't get the reporting to work no mather which 
combinations of key presses I am trying.
