Hi Josh,
Well, the primary issue with the Cepstral voices are they tend to lag
a bit. They are no where as responsive ass say Espeak. So if you are
willing to put up with a little lag then they might be right for you.
Of course, one problem I have with those voices is the way that
Speech Dispatcher handles them. With Gnome Speech support would be
compiled into the drivers which meant Orca was more responsive and
stable with the Cepstral voices. Speech Dispatcher has a generic
wrapper that just outputs speech via Swift which means things get a
little funky when trying to read large portions of text at once or
type at a high rate of speed etc. So while I do like those voices
myself I don't think they are necessarily an absolute replacement for
Espeak. However, they are probably the best you can get for Linux
right now.
Cheers!

Hi
Do the cepstral voices work good with orca? They seem to be the only
really natural-sounding voices available for Linux, at least for now.
And they are not that expensive either.
