this has to do with LXDE right? don't you have to hit alt f2 and run nautilus first?

Hey Kyle,
I wished some more details as well.
How to use the gnome-tweke-tool to get some shortcuts on the desktop and
suppose I wish to have some folders on the desktop as well?
Secondly, I tryed pressing super (windows key ) + f10.
I press the down arrow expecting that the menu items in the applications
menu will be spoken, but I hear nothing.
What could be wrong?
Happy hacking.

You need Tweak Tool to make Nautilus come up with icons on the desktop.
In most distributions, the package will be called gnome-tweak-tool or
similar. If you just want to access your files, start typing the name of
the folder you want to display from your overview and look for the
"files" button. Otherwise, you can find the files app in your dash.
Files is the icon name for Nautilus.

Super+f10 does open the application menu here. Since Thunderbird doesn't
really have an application menu at this point, pressing super+f10 from
here announces "Window. Quit." This is because "quit" is the only menu
item for Thunderbird's application menu. The Files and Terminal menus
have more options, so I would recommend experimenting in one of those
applications, or another application that ships in the standard group of
GNOME packages. Hope this helps.
