I don’t use classic mode. When I want to look through my apps, I hit Super+a and then arrow around until I find “Show All Apps” or something of that nature. I hit space and I have all the apps I need there. Honestly though, I don’t launch apps that way. Very inefficient. Usually, I hit the super key and start typing the app’s name. I don’t often get past the first two or three letters of it before the search option finds it and I can press enter. At worst, I have to right arrow once or twice if the string is part of more than one app’s name. I test drove a distro not long ago that still used the old classic interface and remember finding it rather cumbersome. Guess I’ve been spoiled by the new way of doing things. Regards, Alex M From: orca-list [mailto:orca-list-bounces gnome org] On Behalf Of Andy B. I just installed gnome 3.8. I enabled the classic mode because the fallback mode didn’t seem to exist. When I press F1 to go through the applications menu, it didn’t seem to automatically read things unless I pressed tab a ton of times, at which point it only read a sub menu of items from what I assume. I could return back to the standard gnome desktop, but there is no way I am aware of to arrow down a list of installed apps in a menu. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I am using F19. |
