Re: [orca-list] Libreoffice 4 finally accessible

Personally, I use nano, gedit, vim, etc. Would love to try emacs though,
just haven't had time to set it up.

Curious: What do you use for word processing if not Writer? Are you using Emacs or something?

OK, I haven't needed to use Writer for quite a long while so was not aware of the bug. The bug reference
was interesting and went well over my head:). If you are on Arch and a bit brave, go ahead and include the
testing repos and your machine will have even later versions but will be stable enough. I haven't had much
trouble using testing versions since I've been using them. I don't remember the exact version of the
LibreOffice packages on my box right now but I thought at least 4.1 so try testing and you will get the fix
according to what I read in the bug comments.

Hello,
I am using libreoffice 4.0.1 in arch for some week now however the
issue described at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56031
is only fixed for libreoffice
target:4.1.0 target:4.0.2 target:3.6.6

I think this is the most critical issue we were facing recently.

I am looking forward getting one of these updates coming to my system.

Greetings

Peter

I've used Libreoffice Calc 4.0 something on my Arch Linux box several
times with no a11y problems. I must say though, my activities were
fairly limitted but I could navigate cells and edit contents just
fine. I didn't experience any real problems with prior versions
either.

Hi,
I have a great news for you. If you install latest libreoffice (at
least in Ubuntu 12.04) - version 4, all accessibility issues which I
had in
3.6 and which prevented me from upgrading to the latest versions are
probably fixed.
I am not sure if this version is in Ubuntu repos. Try it and if it's
not working, try adding these repos:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/ppa/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/ppa/ubuntu precise main
