Hello,
With what I am going to say this is going to be a really huge mess.
I am running 64 bit OS on an intel hardware.
So unfortunatelly this appears to break your 32 vs 64 bit theory.

Yes. The P4 is indeed a 32-bit machine, and the FX is running 64-bit
Arch Linux, currently with Orca from git as of 3 days ago. You do bring
up a good point. I will try running the flash drive I was using on the
P4 machine to see if I still have the same problems when using the
32-bit OS on the FX box.
